The great debate continues over the supposed righteousness, legalities, etc., etc., of going into Iraq.
Put aside the United Nations and all the resolutions that Iraq ignored. Put aside the WMD Iraq used against the Kurds. Put aside even the intelligence of France, Germany and Russia that supported their condemning Iraq. Put aside the slaughter of thousands and thousands of Iraqi people. Put it all aside even though there is proof of it all…
Now that is done, let’s go back10, 20, 30 years and more. Let’s take a peek into the mosques and schools of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. Let’s listen to the hatred and vitriol that was being taught to kids who were barely old enough to walk; hatred against the people of the United States. It happened, and it went on without rebuttal year after year after year- and there is no argument that it happened!
With that said, how can any reasonably thinking person believe that someone who is taught to hate with such fervor from the moment of their birth could not one day kill themselves in order to kill Americans- there is no argument that happened also!
As the debate over renewing the “Patriot Act” was virtually brought to a halt in the U.S. Senate, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada was applauded by Democratic colleagues in response to him saying; “we have just defeated the Patriot Act”…
With all the information we have; with all the behavior we are seeing- for me there is a lingering question… How much of the debate against the war in Iraq is politics? God help us!
