      The Reason Behind FoolMeNot

From a point approximately 40 years ago, there has been a most dramatic change in our culture; some of which a matter of evolution brought on by resolution of opposing points of view, and that is fine. There is a segment of change however, that has been thrust upon our culture via political expediency- that is, politicians pandering to voting segments to gain power and influence and politicians indulging other politicians in order to preserve their own power and influence. Culture is comprised of values that individuals hold dear. In most aspects of our daily lives we have experienced a thrust towards what is popularly referred to on a right-to-left spectrum, as the Far Left.

      • From strict censorship in movies and TV, to seemingly one step away from a total "no" reference to limits at all.

      • From holding individuals acutely responsible for their actions to allowing the use of the word "mistake" to be the sole atonement for some of the worst behavior imaginable.

      • From absolutely no tolerance for ending a pregnancy to facilitating a baby's head to emerge from the womb so it's brains can be sucked out.

      • From a few teenage girls getting themselves pregnant and having to quietly quit high school and marry the guy that impregnated her, to multitudes of teenage girls getting themselves pregnant so they can get taxpayers to buy them an apartment, food, and clothing- (marriage is only [not] in this picture, the sperm donor is most often not readily identifiable).

      • From getting an education in a secondary school and college that expected us to spell a word and know how to count change correctly, to an educational system that gives passing grades for just showing up.

      • From a male not hearing a female say the word "shit" until she was 16 to teens giving oral sex on a school bus.

      • From "what can I do for my country"  to "what can my country do for me".

All this and more I have witnessed. For me, it has been a ride too far in one direction. I have no doubt society will one day determine the ride to the left needs to slow down; possibly turn around. I know this will happen, because that is the way of things... In some regard, I can see that happening now.

On this site I talk about, and refer to subjects that interest me; sometimes philosophical, but mostly politically oriented. There are news articles, links to news articles, and my comments on the news. What I do on this site is my best effort to slow this cultural ride to the left down a bit.

Drop me a note; tell me your thoughts.

      Being a Conservative, American Thinker

I am an American and I am a Conservative thinker. Not being a religion or ideology, my conservatism has no script and no model as I look to judge social order in the age in which I live. The attitudes I possess are sustained by my sentiments, and my sentiments seem to be second nature to me; a part of my make-up. I believe that society should progress, but such progression should adhere to Constitutional permanence.

I believe in claims of liberty and in claims of authority. I base the future on the past, yet I value "orderly change”, necessitated by circumstance.   Although there are others of us who I recognize as conservative thinkers with whom I am sometimes at odds regarding certain matters, that disagreement seems natural to me. I respect others simply as individuals and I respect them for their opinion because I know that "best ideas" come the way of thoughtful, reasoned, and honest debate.

It is my goal to support and influence a Conservative public policy that is consistent with these “values”, via independent efforts as well as in conjunction with others of like minds. Specifically, I desire to focus on providing a conservative voice wherever I can. I further desire to facilitate opposition to policies and politicians that do not resonate with a true conservative message, and I will lend support to bureaucrats and political candidates who do.

I believe the “Left” has been effective using lies to create barriers between Conservative values and issues of race, labor, gender, religion, etc. It is my desire to motivate and enlighten people to become activists against those lies, and we must not be shy about it. There is [nothing] I believe in that I should be ashamed of. I don’t need to lie “for the greater good” and I don’t need to exaggerate. I need to leave nothing out of any argument. I do need to be forceful, and I need to be honest. I need to articulate my position effectively and I need to be aggressive about it!

      Emotion has no "IQ"

Is this the secret to understanding current political culture? Is it the overriding reason why the Constitution must be followed as it is written? During the middle to late 1960’s, management gurus started to discuss the effects of emotions in the workplace. “EQ”, as opposed to “IQ”, is now accepted as a reference to emotional response and considered to be an employee satisfaction measurement tool. Emotions in the workplace (most often referred to as complaining) are often the result of frustration caused by an inability of an individual to get an idea or thought, [they are passionate about], across to management.

At the time, along about 1968, the Liberal wing of the Democrat Party seized upon this notion, realizing that relieving or, “playing to”, someone’s pain and suffering could bring great rewards in the way of “votes”. Strategists got together and were so enamored with the idea that they went one step farther; they were not only going to pander to pain and suffering, and see to it that it continued, but they would also “create” even more pain and suffering! Ergo, inner-city poverty, high health care costs via trial attorneys, promoting the "single mom" and the "poor teacher" syndromes, etc., etc., etc. Yes, emotion has no “I.Q. and that is just fine with Democrat elitists and pandering Blue-blood Republicans who feel the only way they can stay in office is not “reaching across the aisle”, but "running across the aisle!"
