Sometimes I see how nice people can be, so I want to mention it. Sometimes I run across something that makes my life or my families life a little easier, so I want to mention it. Sometimes I come across something that gives me "a charge", so I want to mention it. Sometimes I notice people being just plain rude or just plain stupid, so I want to mention it. And so I will. If you would like to add your two-cents, send me an email. For lack of anything that makes more sense, I'll call it...
Odds and Ends
March 9, 2008 - Stop for pedestrians in crosswalk, bull; gas is too expensive, let pedestrians stop for traffic. I'm at Wal-Mart, or I'm at the grocery store, Best Buy or Kohl's; pretty much everywhere there is a semblance of a retail outlet with parking in front. I park my car and approach the store. I look for oncoming traffic; they stop, I wave them on.... Back up 15 minutes-- I'm in my car proceeding to the parking area. People are leaving the store, people are going into the store. Not one of them looks to see if I will kill them with my car; they assume I will stop- lucky for them, lucky for me, I do! ............ Ok, now imagine this-- Same stores, same sort of parking areas, but different location. I'm now South of the Mason/Dixon Line-- I'm in my car proceeding to the parking area. People are leaving the store, people are going into the store. They all stop and look both ways; they see me and wave me thru and/or I wave them thru; whatever, it is the dance of politeness. We all smile. You tell me!
March 9, 2008 - Bring back the orphanage. Their is absolutely no way many of those who have children today can qualify for the label, "parent"; much less actually perform the task. So many are kids themselves looking more for a welfare bonanza and an apartment of their own than a family situation. A quick check of historical fact will find a multitude of success stories involving those who at one time were raised in an orphanage. Fast forward to today-- a huge majority of those kids raised by a "single mom", will be on welfare just like their single mom!
March 9, 2008 - Put the damn shopping cart where it belongs you lazy slob, she's watching! My wife goes crazy when she see's someone leaving their shopping cart between cars instead of taking it to where it belongs. One time a woman, left her cart 3 inches from the passenger door on a van. Obviously the van driver would not see it unless they had a passenger. Obviously, if the van driver turned too quickly they would hit the cart. Of course, the woman who left it never thought of those consequences; or she didn't care........ Well, I'll tell you this-- after my wife got thru with her at the next stop sign, she may do it again, but she will first look to see if my wife is around before she does!
