The 2000 U.S. Census reported 42,700 young, single, college educated persons moving out of Michigan between 1995 and 2000. Obviously they received a good education in Michigan; perhaps with the help of Michigan taxpayers, but had to leave the state to find a job…
So how does Governor Granholm respond? Instead of doing things that would keep corporations in Michigan, or move to Michigan, she spends $2 billion to educate even more people so they can also move out of the state…

High teacher pay, colleges turning out more graduates than the state can employ, but no jobs; this is too much even for me to imagine…
